THE LINEN SPRAY - in the deep midwinter
breathing in the air tonight feels like taking a swallow of iced, minty water. your nose stings a little, blood rushing to your cheeks as you enjoy the sound of your feet leaving trails in the snow. underfoot, you can feel the shift and yaw of the sleeping world.
you pick a branch of frosted cypress as you pass, crushing it between the fingers of your gloves to free all the fresh, green energy it’s stored. an answering prickle of tickling warmth spindles up your fingers, reminding you that it’s time to get where you’re going. the woods are quiet, lights bobbing in front of you as you make your way out into the evening. there are parties to go to, cheeks to kiss, snow-beaded sweaters to hug, but for a moment, it’s peaceful here.
notes: birchwood, ozonic juniper, cypress evergreen.
in the deep midwinter is our candle that tells a december story.
