candle safety tips
every step of our candle-making process happens by hand in our studio in providence, from fragrance design to wax curing to finishing vessels.
that means that they’re sisters, not triplets. no two candles will be exactly the same in terms of burn, scent or pooling. however, they’re all beautiful, sustainable and luxurious.
hot things (fire and wax safety):
keep your candle at least 1 foot away from other objects when it’s lit.
don’t leave your candle alone when it’s burning.
don’t burn your candle on a surface which might catch fire.
don’t pick up, handle or move a lit candle.
don’t pick up, move or handle a container with hot or melted wax in it.
things that contain fire get hot. don’t touch or pick up your candle until it’s cooled down.
cool things (candle and EMBER VESSEL etiquette):
trim your wick after each burn! snip the wick to 0.5 to 1cm (think the length of an eyelash) when the candle has cooled down.
this means it smokes less, doesn’t drop any black stuff and you’ll get a longer-lasting candle.
to minimize pooling and keep your wax pool flat and pretty, try and burn your candle for between 1-3 hours at a time.
definitely burn it for at least an hour the first time you use it.
blow out your flame before you replace the lid.
