three fates presents:
the EMBER VESSEL
the EMBER VESSEL is our new container system. we hand-pour, hand-color and hand-finish them in our signature tones in our studio in providence, and they’re available in all three of our sizes: 4oz, 8oz and 15oz formats. each vessel is unique because each goes through the finishing process individually. none will look exactly the same, which we think is beautiful. we hope you’ll agree.
with these vessels we’re also introducing a new system for refilling your candles. you’ll see in our shop that you can now order a hand-poured puck of wax in our medium and large sizes.
-
we have pucks of wax in every scent we make, and they’re available for order on our site. put one you’ve tried and love in your basket, or one that sparks your interest, or as many as you can fit in your cupboards.
when you’re done with your candle, you can simply rinse your vessel and drop a new puck of wax into it, in any scent you choose. it’s accessible, affordable and allows you to customize your candle however you’d like it most.
tada! it’s a new story, with minimal waste and minimal fuss.
-
our smallest size of candle isn’t refillable because it’s hard to safely ship wax of the quality we use in amounts that small. but stand by for news on our local dropoff system for RI residents. soon, if you bring us back six 4oz pots in good condition, we’ll give you a new 4oz candle for your trouble.
we’re so excited to be making these, and so excited for you to try them.
our puck refills
all the goodness of a three fates candle, with minimal waste and maximum, highly satisfying efficiency.
when you’re done with whatever you’re burning in your EMBER VESSEL, pick up a puck of wax in your favorite scent and we’ll make it to order and ship it to you.
when your new puck arrives, simply rinse out your EMBER VESSEL and drop the new candle body in. watch it slot smoothly, sweetly into place, ready to tell you a new story. our pucks are designed to be both price accessible and environmentally friendly. there’s nothing to throw away but the last whisper of your previous story’s wick.

MOTHERTREE
notes: heritage apple — vanilla chestnut — saffron tincture
-
the leaves reel drunkenly off the trees as summer ends. as you’re walking through the woods you feel a crisp, surprising snap underfoot, and then another. you look up to find yourself surrounded by fat, glowing apples like jewels, so weighty and abundant that the branches droop. you fill your bag with them, stopping to savor the musky, astringent scent of sap and damp grass. the tannic bite of apple skins blends with a drift of earthy smoke from roasting chestnuts as you make your way back through the town, laden with autumn’s first treasures.
BELL, BOOK
notes: clarifying herbs — smoked beeswax — oud
-
some ghosts are welcome here, and some we’ll gratefully dismiss with the turning of the seasons. you’ve swept every inch of the house and chased out the dust of the year where it lingers in the corners. the wood glows with wax, the surfaces are gleaming, the breeze coming through the window is sharp and fresh. autumn lives inside, but the outside world is promising winter. taking a moment to crush a fragrant leaf or two between your fingers, you place a bundle of herbs into the fire. their rich oils bubble and snap, cleansing the air of the last of your burdens. the space is ready for sleep, for nesting, for watching the cold draw close while you’re safe inside.
WINDOWS LIT
notes: warm linens — preserved chilis & citrus — earl grey
-
you’re walking down a path you know well, the last soft touches of autumn still in the frosted air. behind you the world is hushed, naked trees inlaid like cracks in the sky and the seeds already sleeping under the soil. in front of you, the windows of a house glow. you know the cupboards are full of clean linen, folded and fragrant. there are ropes of chilis and herbs hanging from the ceiling, bright as their summer skins, waiting for the colder days. all the goodness of the year is stored away, ready to sustain you and those you love best. you can smell the woodsmoke, feel the firelight’s ruddy touch on your face. home is close and you’re safe here.
